On a microscopic level primer has a rough surface. I left part of the inner portion of the closet in primer although I had top coated the ensolite on the outer or back wall on my boler
American. The primer surface marks easily and looks dirty compared to the finished surfaces. They are getting reprimed and top coated next year. You may want to rethink your decision while everything is still clean and prepped for a top coat or two.
