My little trailer has a 3 way fridge & I don't have any instructions on how to work it. I think it is fairly simple. There is a compartment on the outside that comes off & the works are inside. I intend to use the propane most of the time. Does anyone have a booklet with a pic & instructions that they would be willing to scan. Thanks, Colleen

We'll need to know more - what brand and model and maybe some pictures.

I have a pretty new 3-way Dometic (don't know the model offhand). I have all the doc for that. It has an electronic panel - just some buttons on the front that switch it from electric to battery to propane more-or-less automagically.

My really old Dometic in my VW Westphalia was more complicated (pilot lights to light, condensation tubes to open, etc).

So, it all kind of depends. I'll bet if you get a little more info and provide pictures - someone will be able to help.

I will take pics when I get it back from the trailer shop, but it sounds like your "really old" one. The panel is on the outside of the trailer. Inside that are the works for the different options. Like you said, pilot light, condensation tubes, temp controls etc. I'm just a little wary of the propane.

See if there's anything in the Document Center that will help you. On the left navigation bar, under Resources: Refrigerator Manuals

Our 3-way fridge is a 2-person operation for propane, as the inside push-button igniter doesn't work. (Would cost a few hundred to repair, we haven't bothered yet.) So hubby stands inside holding the propane "on", I go outside, remove the cover, flip the little cover off the igniter area, and use a bbq lighter to get 'er going.

This way we can have a NASA countdown, and "We have ignition" messages shouted through the window and so forth. More fun.

We just picked up our 13' Scamp on Friday. It has a 3 way refrig with all the controls outside in the vented refrig compartment. It clearly states use only one source at a time-12v, 110v or propane. The 12v and 110v each have a toggle switch to turn them on/off. The propane has a propane switch that is depressed to light the pilot light and then turned to actually light the refrig. This dial can be rotated to the setting you wish to run the refrig at! Hope this helps some. Ron
