Insurance for Camper

Hi All! We are trying to get insurance on our 1974 Boler. We carry Auto/Home with StateFarm, but they will not cover the camper. They say they don't offer RV insurance. Any Advise is Much Appreciated!!!!

I've been doing a lot of shopping around, because we want a replacement policy for our's, and our current insurance company does not offer it. I think we are going to end up going with Progressive, for our camper only.

It sometimes depends on the state. Insurance companies do not always offer the same products in every location. Insurance laws are set by states. Claims rates also vary from place to place. Companies may decide, based on the local rules and loss history, that they don't want to play.

It wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion, though.

I have State Farm RV insurance in AZ.

What Jon said (I was just going to say it!) Worth asking another State Farm agent or asking yours to call and check. I have State Farm RV in Washington (and also did in California.)

Could you give more detail on what you have Darwin, with Good Sam, and how you got it. Everything I get from them, in the fine print, says the camper must be less than 8 years old.

I insured with State Farm in Wisconsin in March 2016 after purchasing a new Casita. They had some difficulty figuring out what to charge but somehow worked it out.

Shop around and compare

I always shop/compare auto insurance yearly. Found my best coverage was through GEICO and AARP/Hartford, for auto/RV...in Oregon.

Insurance carriers and what they cover varies state by state. Changing agents won't change the coverage.

We have RV insurance on Peanut here in Washington; we have MetLife through the Secord Agency in Seattle. No problem, and not expensive. Before it was rehabbed we paid only about $4 a month. It's more now; they went by all the money we'd put into it for a base cost and replacement value.

my sister has been camping in her fifth wheel for yrs and she told me to get Good Sams insurance cause they will come out to change a tire and they will arrange for someone to get you home if your hurt and can't drive. that sounds like a good thing.
