We are delighted with the the increasing ease of our Compact jr. compared to our previous tent trailer. We actually have a hanging closet and made use of it this past weekend when the trailer became our home away from home while attending a conference. However going and coming back all the hangers with clothes fell off the closet rod and ended up in a heap. The closet rod is the usual 1inch dowel and the usual wire hangers. There are a lot of twists and turns as the road goes through the mountains. Any tricks out there that keep the hangers on the rod?

Our Fiber Stream came with custom hangar keepers on the metal closet rod.

There are 3 of them. The left and right ones are shown closed, and the center one is shown open.

I use rubber bands and haven't had a problem, but Google brought up these:

Dear Donna D.,

can you be more specific about how you use the rubber bands? Do you use them to wrap the hooks of hangers to increase the grip or do you use the rubber bands to fix the hangers right to the rod.

With some more time I found some one who went through the same experience, asked the same question and received these replies.

Hope it helps others.
