Hi Richard,
I bought a
Bal Light Trailer Leveler for camping trips. It also takes the place of a chock as it wraps the whole tire and I know for a fact the trailer will not move once it's on.
It is really quick to level your trailer with this and the front leg HOWEVER I find it's hard to find somewhere in the trailer to store it as it's pretty large. Also, as you need to grease the screw shaft the potential for grease getting everywhere is high. That said, it still seems the smartest idea for single
axle small trailers. When I have my final trailer configuration (weight wise) down I will either make a mount for the space between the spare tire and back of trailer or behind the
propane tank in front.
I use a
small hydraulic bottle jack to lift the trailer and I rested the
axle on
axle stands. However, the Bal Leveler easily lifts one side of the trailer so you could just use that if you didn't have a bottle jack.
