my two side windows on my boler are very loose. When i had first got the trailer I had lubed them up with some penatrating fluid and now there almost too smooth. It seems like the gearing in the windows are stripped or somthing. They tend to bounce open on the road. Just curious if there is any way to tighten them up with out replacing the windows.

I have the same problem with my 74 Boler. My RV dealer says i need to change the window mechanism. To do that, he says i need to drill out the rivets and bring it to the dealer so i can get the exact same. Hopefully ill be able to do that soon.

Hope it helps

If you're interested in a DIY job, maybe something here will help, from the Helpful-Links pages: Windows and Window Parts

You should be able to replace the gears in the window without taking them out. they still make the part (i just re-did mine). you should be able to order them from your local RV dealer for about 10 bucks a pop. It does take some work and a bit of frustration, but it is well worth the effort. make sure to take in your old gear assembly to the RV dealer so they can visually match the part. Best of luck!

If you don't want to deal with replacement right now, but want a temporary solution. Check out this post, Des Nolan has a real easy solution: Cranks for Windows
