Lost Scamp keys - replacements avail?

Howdy, when I recently bought my 1975 Scamp the door was locked with no key. In the pic below you can see the homemade striker. With a wiggle and a tug the locked door will open past the flimsy striker. I would really like to either get a key made or order/buy a replacement lock and stock striker. Used is great if possible. Is there maybe a number on the lock to get a replacement? Or does anyone have one or know where to point me? Thanks a bunch!

That looks like the standard striker plate! Looks like it has been moved down-did the door sag? If you take the outside lock off, there should be a number stamped on it. You can order a new key from Scamp, or order the entire outside mechanism from Scamp. As Donna pointed out, a garage door handle with lock(available at Lowes or Home Depot) will work also.

I ordered a new lock from Scamp and turned out the key for the new lock fit the old one too(not a good thing).

I have owned several Scamps the same key fit them all. Just find someone close who owns a Scamp and get a copy of their key made. Since all Scamp owners are honest, no problem.

That lock is so bad you can pick it with you're nose.
What I Did: I purchased 2 chrome plated hasps at Tractor supply that have a turn device with a keyed lock and installed one hasp on the door and a turn device on both the door and the other on the camper so it could be locked in the Closed position and in the Open position to prevent someone from locking us in.
See picture at site below.
