Jared, what kind of plastic did you use?

That is one approach. You could also just cut repeatedly in the curves on one side of the angle and bend it such that the cuts close up as it is bent. I'd use a jig saw or a table saw with a carbide blade to make the cuts.

It is probably to late but if you need any pictures of how something is done on another love bug that has not had a complete restoration to my knowledge I will be glad to take some of mine. I just joined the site because I was looking for information on the one I just bought and plan to start restoring later this year. Look for me to be asking how you did something then. lol

Welcome to the forum. There are lots of knowledgable people here. Friendly and helpful too.

Not sure how much good ill be but I'm happy to field any questions about what we have done.

Yes, thank you. I would very much like to see pics of the windows. Does yours have a ring around the inside of the window. Close ups of the windows would be great. Also, if it isn't too much trouble.. I could really use some pics of the door sill. Pics from under the floor just at the edge of the doorway and from the top as well. You can see some of our pics at the link at the bottom of my post. I haven't updated in a while.

Hey Cat,
Donna D. just posted another member to a previous thread for a Scamp with swing out windows. Wonder if the thread might be any help to you?

Been out of town but here are 2 of images you requested. I am working on getting the underside image for you, just figuring out all the new phone features at the same time which has the camera on it.

This is under door from front. The axle you see may look different than what you have. It was replaced and raised a few inches to accomadate 14" tires rather than the 13" originally under it.

Thank you to all for the information and advice. Thanks Roy for directing me to the other posts, Think we have resolved our problem...will post pics and explanation in another post.

Drew, thank you for going to the trouble of taking and sending those pics. They have been helpful. I do have a question about about "under the door". There is something hanging down a couple of inches that almost looks like linoleum floor covering. It is on the door side of the angle iron. Also, is there a metal piece attached to the underside of the floor, right at the edge of the door opening?

That is a piece of linoliam you see underneith. Also there is a piece of aluminum angled channel with threads across the floor at the door. It is over the linolium and plywood. If need more pics will be glad to take them.
