Mantle for Coleman lamp in Campster

Okay, I have the propane hooked up and working and put a mantle on the propane lantern in my Trailswest Campster. I used the lantern mantle that I would use for my other propane lanterns.

Problem is I can't get it to burn properly. There is a flame along one side of the mantle and the intense glow only at the bottom of the mantle. I came in and checked on line and the info I downloaded from the documents says to use a 011-303 mantle and the one I got at OSH is a #21.

Any idea on where to get the proper mantel? I am heading to Yosemite tomorrow for the first camping trip in the trailer (yippee). I don't have to use the lantern but would like to if possible.

Does the mantle type make a difference?

The 011-303 mantle seems to be pretty close to the standard mantles used in a regular coleman lantern. The example I saw with that part number was for a older style coleman lantern. Try another one, maybe the mantle didn't burn in properly.

air tube

The burner(where the mantle attaches)has an air tube that is the abode of little spiders. clean this out.

Smile

Thanks for the advice. I will check the air flow this weekend. From the description that sounds like it might be the issue.
