Has anyone seen or tried the new IWave Cube microwave? It is only 10"x10.5"x12" high, weighs 12 lbs and has a carry handle on top. I have found them so far only at Sharper Image for $129. It would be a great size for a small galley.

There comes the time in every young person's life where they decide to graduate from the microwave to the stove. And fail miserably. Now instead of retreating dejectedly back to the kitchen microwave, where the rest of the appliances can point and make fun, you can hide your shame with the iWave Cube. The little microwave measures one cubic foot (about the size of a Kleenex box), and weighs just 12 pounds. Unfortunately, you'll still need to plug it in, so there's a limit to how far you can run. The iWave Cube comes in black, red or silver, and retails for $130.

Took a little digging but I found it.
It's a 600 watt unit.

Gina,
Where did you find the red one? I want to go see it and really see if you can fit anything inside. I found Sharper Image and Sky Mall, but neither showed the red one. It's ADORABLE!!

I found it Here.
This is really exactly what I have been looking for. Something for a quick easy no clean up meal while traveling. It is just fine for quickie tv dinners like Budget Gourmets and the new healthy choice steamers (Which are outstanding, btw.. try them!)
I am ordering one. I will let you know.
Here is the manual

Sharp used to make one called The Half Pint that was 14" square. I actually did get a red one on sale for around $39. I decided I didn't want a micro in the trailer so I took it back. When I changed my mind, they no longer made them. Since this is smaller, it would even be better.

I am bummed; those appeared now after I searched all over for one last summer! Well, if the one I have fails I can replace it with a smaller one and make some additional space next to the microwave, I guess.

If the idea goes over well Wallyworld and everyone else will have their manufacters cook up small ones too. (pun intended ) There will be a huge price drip too.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Nancy!!! Exactly what I've been looking for!
I called Sharper Image today and ordered one, the only color they have is black...they don't know when (or if) the other colors will be coming in.
And Christi, you will be glad to know that they are having some kind of a special. they didn't charge shipping. Check out their website, there is a code to get free shipping!

I have to go to Vegas in May. There is a big Sharper image store in one of the casinos. I will look there.
I didn't order last nite because I could not find the red option. Now I know why.

OK, so I have to go down the hill today anyway, so I stop at Sharper image and pick one of these up.
Actually, it was the ONLY one to pick up, they are discontinued and all that is left is black ones, even in the stores. I got this stores last one, so go order quickly if you want one. At least, that is what the clerk told me their computer said.
It is very small, but does exactly what I want it to. Small dinners and popcorn + reheat coffee etc. It will fit under my sink to stow and I can set it on the counter with one hand when needed. Or on top of one stove burner. I have a partial cover just for that.
It has a small fan, but isn't too noisy. It heated a budget gourmet in 5 mins, even tho the instructions say it won't cook thoroughly frozen stuff.
It seems OK for heat out the back, I actually didn't feel any. It has a LED inside so there is some light. It has a metal cooking rack that they instruct you to make popcorn on, however, my Daddy told me to never put metal in a microwave..so, er, I am not going to. (I wonder what THAT is all about?)
These give you an idea of the size
I went to Wally World after and it is hard to see ones 4 times as large for 1/4 of the price, but this is almost custom made for a small trailer and to me seemed worth the extra cost to avoid the dedicated space for one (And not to mention the weight)

For those masses with 17 foot Burros...
it fits perfectly in the closet/pantry next to the sink. Almost like it was measured for there.
I have mine stored in there right now, but will wire in an outlet and do a cut out up front for the ventilation issue. I am not allowed to lift or do manual labor stuff right now, so it will have to wait.. but it is usable where it is with plugging it into the outlet closest to it and leaving the door open when in use.
I am really tickled it fits there. Good accident!

I don't recall from the earlier posts, does the ICube have a turntable? I fondly remember my dorm room Sharp HalfPint, its a darn shame they quit making those! hehe
