Exclamation My Potty is making me CRAZY!! Help!!!

Hi,
I'm new to FGRV, but have had my '84 Casita 16' for a year. The toilet needs replaced, but I can't find ANY writing on it to identify it other than "13 AUG 27 1984" stamped in the all porcelain bowl. The whole pot sits atop a 9" platform that's about 16' x 16" and it's all bone or parchment colored. It has a 4 bolt connection to the platform. It (the potty) currently resides outside, in my carport.

I've learned tons about new available pottys (Thetford, Dometic, etc) BUT have no idea what I have and am replacing, so people I call seem unable to help me.

My egg is scrambled!

Anyone have any hints for me?

toilet/potty

Your toilet is a Sealand Traveler. I think you need the low profile model 511 and an adaptor since the new Sealand uses 2 bolts. The new unit is still porcelain. Just like home!!

I believe your "Platform" is actually your Blackwater Holding Tank.
Sealand Traveler, Toilet and Black Holding Tank together

Sealand Traveler, Toilet only

That's a great start!

Thanks for the speedy info. It may be an old version of the SeaLand 511 or the platform may also be part of the blackwater tank. I flunked shop class.

Tomorrow, I may throw the porcelain bowl and lid parts back inside "Lil' Miss Sunshine", hook 'er up, then drive to an RV place 30 minutes away (yes, that's the closest choice I have) and get the RV repair guy to take a look.
I'll take Vaseline for the reaming he'll inevitably do to me.

Really, it may just need some kinda water valve, the one in it that failed was some kinda Mansfield Triple somethingorother that I could not find a replacement for and i guess the rest of the potty is all functioning - - - just ancient.

I'll update with whatever info I come up with.

You have a Sealand 911-M28 and it has been discontinued. The 711-M28 is the closest replacement, but you have to order the Bowl and RV tank separately (only comes in bone color). The 711 bowl will bolt to your tank but you will have interference with your flush lever.
The flush valve on a 711 is spring loaded and if you try to dissemble it, it will fly apart. The Valve assembly now comes as a cartridge assy. for easy replacement. I'm not sure about the 911 valve assy. but be careful if you try to repair it.
Call USA Dometic /sanitation /Sealand. They a lady who is the Customer rep. she is very helpful and will supply with all your manuals and give you status on replacement parts.

My oldy but goody Scamp 16' has a porcelain Sealand toilet. I should probably scan the original manual I have for it and make it available in the Document Center. Does anyone have a scan available for Steve? Let's help him out with his "flushy"!

One more detail to this mystery

Thanks for all the cards and letters pouring in!!

Eddie: I can't seem to conjure up (or Google up, actually) a photo of a SeaLand 911-M28, but it sure seems like that may be what I've got.

Sorry, I mistakenly posted this msg saying potty was right-handed flush -- I edited that out within seconds, but apparently the msg went out in emails as originally written It is, in fact, quite left-flushy!!!

BTW of you look at the very back on the base of the toilet you may find a sticker that gives you the model number.
