Need Help:Spare tire and Rim

I recently purchased my beloved 1982 Burro! I can't wait to take it on the road but do not want to take her any distance without a spare tire. She didn't come with one and I am at a loss. She has a 4-hole rim and the reading on the tire is P185/BUR13 M/3 Not anything I've seen before! Usually there is a three digit ID number on the tire. Tire Rack said that it is probably a 185/80/13 camper tire which makes some sense but they don't have a rim for the camper nor do they know where to get one. Can anyone of the Burro or fiberglass community help me? Does anyone know what or where I can find a wheel for my little pet? Otherwise she in in perfect condition and I'm crazy to get her out on the road! Thanks!

I just got a set of these for my Burro - 13 inch rims, 4 on 4 bolt pattern - sounds like you have something similar. Hunt around - there are a couple of places you can find them and the cost + shipping varies depending on quantity.

Is there any chance those existing tires are... original to the trailer? Might be worth finding out and getting new tires all around if they are older.

Need Help: Spare tire and rim

Thanks Jen! I fully intend to get new tires and use one of the existing tires as a spare. The existing tires look in very good shape and have no dry rot but I'll feel better with new tread under her as I will be traveling alone. Where did you get your rims? Is there a web address?

OK You don't have to respond to where you got them! Dummy me clicked on tire and found it! Thanks!

lol that was cute.

should be a standard 4 holes 4inches apart trailer rim. available just about anyplace. 13 inch rim. you can probably get one at miejers, or wallmart.

for exact size replacement a good tire store should be on your next stop list.

Gee does the "Bur13" in your tire code stand for "Burro 13"?? If so, I bet it is an orginal tire and definately in need of replacement.

Tire Rack doesn't market towards trailer tires. E-trailer has several if you want to do some online reading and research

Try a local tire store - they'll have them. Like John says, work with a good store to get decent tires too. (Or you could likely find a 4 bolt rim at a local junk yard too.)

I got my rims and a new tire for my spare shipped from a place in CA called Shadow something. Their prices are ever so slightly higher, but the free shipping over $100 or thereabouts made the total price tag lower than some other options.

Since you are in NJ try Eastern Marine they are in Newark Del. Great selection, great service and fair prices. They sell wheels, tires or combo sets. They shipped two wheels to me in Va, for $25. They also have a good selection of aluminum trailer wheels.
