I need a small hollow bead to put in the tube I have on my water tank so it is easier to check the water level. If anyone happens to have one or know where I can find one please let me know. All of the beads I have found so far are solid.

Thanks;
Steve

ummmm, probably not at a toy store. Something about kids swallowing small things. Maybe a fishing supply store... the kind that would sell supplies for making fishing lures, no wait those would have a hole through them. How about a craft store???

I'm thinking you must have a dark tank so that it's hard to see the water level through the tank wall so you have some sort of "sight tube" (Like those remote water levels) to show the water level. So you want a bead small enough to move freely in the vinyl tube but not so small that when you drain the tank the bead goes into the tank. How big a diameter are you thinking about?

Can you make one out of a small piece of cork or styrofoam?

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I have picked up tons of beads from the camp grounds where I go camping. Most fishing things sink as the fish are on the bottom. I can put some cheese cloth or screen material to keep the float from going up or down my tube. The tube size the same as the tubing that goes from the tank to the rest of the trailer and all the beads I have found at the crafts store are solid too. I was hoping to find some small game that would have them but haven't yet. I think I have seen little cork balls somewhere but don't remember where.

Thanks;
Steve

Okay, when going to the craft store don't necessarily think "bead," but think "small round thing," like fruit.... the red berries on holly. If you can find some artificial plastic kinda thing, that should do the trick.

HI,
I remember little tubes with floating beads in them which were used to test the level of antifreeze in a car. Too small? Too old? I haven't tested antifreeze for 20 years....
