New battery...no lights...

Just bought a new 12 v battery for our new-to-us 1980 Boler. All the lights work when plugged in to the house but nada with the new fully charged battery.

Any suggestions for what to check next appreciated.

See if your converter has a switch to switch over to 12V.

Look for a fuse between the battery and the converter. Some units even have 2 fuses.

No fuses

Looked for a fuse- none. Two reset breaker buttons. Pushed both, nada.

Here's a photo of the converter.

Make sure your positive and negative wires are not crossed at the battery connection. The trailer wires are often not the colors you'd expect.

The converter may be the same as mine, described in http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...html#post56112 (post #6).

This converter disconnects the battery with a relay when plugged in, and I found that sometimes the relay sticks and fails to reconnect the battery when unplugged from the outside power. I only had to bang the front panel to unstick it.

might be time to invest in a multimeter if you don't have one!

May I ask what size Boler? Love to see some pics of it and if you did any mods.

It's a 1980 FG16. On the road with it now. Have to say, it's a lot more fun than our 13 footer.

Looks good Peg. But why did you touch me and walk away? I want to see the inside too.

Thanks for the converter photo. It's not the same as mine, and probably not a Powertron, but it might still work the same way. I can't make out the brand and model information on the top - can you read it, or get a more detailed photo of the label?
