New member! New Boler! (and 2 mysteries)

Hello everyone! (re-posting from my first attempt at posting - in the wrong thread Thanks Bob Miller for responding to that

We have just landed our very first RV - a 1976 Boler!! She's a diamond in the rough but seeing what is possible through some of the posts on this forum have us very excited at her potential!

Some mysteries are baffling us and I'm hoping someone can help.

Mystery 1:
Ours did not come with a battery and no inverter. Under the sink there are some wires that are cut! Not sure why they are cut...is it possible they are the wires one would connect to the battery to run the 12V lights and fridge (in 12V mode?). Perhaps a previous owner had the battery installed under the sink? (Have been wondering how the battery would connect to everything). I also noticed the wires that run from both the 12V lights have been cut just as they exit the upper cabinet. Again.. not clear why someone would do this. I'm wondering if this means I need to re-wire everything following the purchase of a battery... then...do I need a converted also or do I somehow connect all these wires directly to battery via a special plug? (forgive my novice thought process here

Mystery 2:
The 110 Shore power works as I plugged a night light into the 110v outlets and tested them all...but I'm not sure if the fridge is working or not. I followed the instructions (set to 110v...turn thermostat to 4...)...but it doesn't seem to be doing anything (no audible him or anything) or getting cold. Kaput perhaps?

Any help would be SO appreciated! Can post pic of fridge settings if that helps.

Richard

Welcome Richard,

The fridges are silent with no moving parts other than gasses and liquids running through the tubes and fins. They take a few hours at least to notice cooling. You should be able to feel heat on the outer tubes and fins before feeling cold on the inside, if that helps.
