I was given a Canadian Boler trailer with no title or registration. I have read through some post to find info. Found what I think is the VIN# on metal plate on body of drivers side but it appears it once said "issue number" and not serial or VIN. Unsure of year also but by browsing others photos on line (wheel well, windows etc) it might be a "68. Can't figure out fridge though, specs on closet door say gas but I couldn't even begin to guess how to light it. Any feedback would be appreciated. Tina

More confusion: Outside plate stamped with two numbers. 5 digit "issue number" stamped nicely. Model number stamped (not uniform) with 355. Inside closet spec paper typed model number 1300 with serial number hand written as GF-355 nothing noted next to propane bottle area, maybe needs acetone to find. Don't want to register it with incorrect info even though I would never part with my little trailer!

"GF" was Glass-Fab, the western manufacturer at one point. As described in post #117 of http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...nts-26760.html, this would have been between about 1971 and perhaps as late as 1975.

I believe that GF-355 would be the proper serial number (the closest you get to a VIN for something that old).

Doesn't the sheet in the closet have the year?

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

No year listed. Thanks for post info and the years. I will continue trying to look. Could a person run the serial number in Canada to find proper year. Washington said they only can check for Washington and I am unsure if it was registered here but will check with them. Thanks once again.

That's an interesting idea, but with the old (and therefore not to current standard VIN) serial number any search might be tough. A registration search is usually done to confirm clear title related to a sale or loan; I don't know if the registry agencies would provide information about the trailer (such as the year) beyond what you would supply to them to facilitate the search... privacy laws, you know. I suppose a legitimate request to confirm the year for registration purposes (with whatever year you guess) might get an answer.

It is a wonderful gift and in good shape, needs a little TLC but have taken it camping already. Glad I found the sight and look forward to reading others post etc.

Hi Tina What you have is a 1971 Boler made by Glass-Fab Industries in Peace River Alberta. Mine is GF309 so mine was built 46 units before yours.
