Like many other
ParkLiner owners, we now have a new tongue mounted
battery box. I did not have the tools to easily take the top off while traveling, so waited till I got home. To get the top off, you have to remove screws that are very difficult to get out. At least I had new batteries!
The starboard side of the top was not attached in what I would term an aesthetic manner (it was crooked), so I decided to drill and tap holes into the frame for easier removal. As I went to get the top off, I ended up having to remove the dual
propane tank cover and
propane tanks to get the cover off. While drilling and tapping the holes, I came up with a better idea. Remote
battery posts like this for external charging and accessories:
When I get these posts, I will figure out where to mount them, and take some pics. Maybe this weekend.
When i finished, I had new 5/16 - 24 fasteners holding the top on. Today I ordered stainless steel hardware (including flat and lock washers) to finish it off. that stuff should be in next week.
