New to boler

Hi there,
I have just purchased a boler 1300. On the vin plate it says made in peace river alberta by glassfab, model # 1300. I brought it home on Thursday, and had it gutted by friday afternoon. i will need lots of help getting it into shape but think i am in the right place. My first question is in regards to the front bunk. My boler never came with one. I can come up with the poles, and I have found the dimensions for the plywood base online, it's attaching it to the wall that has me. In the front of my boler, under the window is a protrusion like a narrow fiberglass shelf. I assume the hinges attach to this somehow? Any help would be appreciated.

The boler front hinge is not the same as a standard door hinge. It has a 90° angle piece on the top side of the hinge with a setback the thickness of the wood. I'll try to get pictures up for you this week since mine is apart at the moment, but 30 min away at my shop.

Does one side of the hinge attach to the fibreglass shelf thing?

Where in oOntario are you? I have made a two person dinette where the bunks used to be and you can have the seat back if you want to come and get it. I'm in s ontario about 1/2 hour east of London.

Thanks for the offer James, however I am in Kenora, about as far away as possible! I certainly wouldn't be opposed to you mailing me the hinges tho!! I understand they are not normal hinges.

Actually the hinges on this one are the ordinary flat butt type, available at any hardware store as are the ones on the end wings. The poles were ordinary painted 1" wood dowels which I replaced with aluminum tubing from an old lawn chair.

Here is my next question. I have the whole boler dismantled. I have touched up the interior wall cracks with caulking and repainted the ensolite with tremclad rv white. It looks like new! Now I need to reinstall the rear benches, front couch base, and cupboards. I drilled out the rivets which held them in. Are rivets the best choice to reinstall these cupboards with or some type of bolt nut and washers? Any suggestions appreciated.

I went with 3/4 inch stainless bolts with nylon nuts, and took the washers off of metal roofing screws. Seems like it will work well. I painted the cabinets with the same tremclad rv white. Reinstalled the upper cabinet over the sink and it looks great. Need to get some pics.

Well you're ahead of me. I just put the body back on the frame ,but still have all the cabinets out. The power was out with an ice storm for 52hours,and a few fallen trees have distracted me a bit. Look forward to seeing some photos of yours when you get time...

I have cut the front a frame off the frame to replace it. Poor little thing is chopped up pretty bad. It will be nice again some day. Here are some pics of nothing in particular. Pics taken with iPad so I don't know how good they

So was the frame all rotted and patchwork, or did you just decide it was time for an upgrade? I'm glad that I have a shop to work in looking at your snow..

It was patched and had been jackknifed a bit so was bent, old and ugly. I got the new one installed and it looks strong and new! I also got all the old rivet holes fiberglassed over.
