Newbie on the lookout. '09 Sacmp

Hello Friends,

My wife, dog and I have been on the lookout for a small travel trailer for some time now, and I've spotted a Scamp for sale not too far away, but I have no idea if they are asking a fair price. I'd like to be armed with a little ammunition before I drive out and try to make a deal, so I figured I'd consult some experts.

It's 2009 13' model with AC and bathroom and just about every possible option available. The only things it doesn't have is a double propane tank, vent-a-hood and microwave oven. Owner claims very low miles, pristine condition and in 100% working order.

So, my question is: what would a new decked out one have gone for in '09 and what might it be worth now?

Looking forward to hearing some opinions and hopefully "hanging out" here as a new owner soon.

This site is a good comparison site and also look under sold scamps.
Scamp Trailers - US | Fiberglass RV's For Sale

You could also call Scamp and get their brochure price list as some things that appear standard are actually options.

This is peak time of year for prices and certainly the condition, how many others for sale in your area etc all play in to the equation. Good luck.

A year and half ago I paid $8,000 for an identical 2008 model. At the time the factory price for new was only a few thousand more but then the delivery cost added some more so I bought a used one. Same equipment and low milage/use. Don't regret not buying new.

Does it have the deluxe wood cabinets, instead of fiberglass cabinets with wood doors? That adds a lot.
In the '60s, people took LSD to make the world seem weird.
Now the world is weird, and people take Prozac to make it seem normal.
