The water heater in ours is an Atwood G6A-7 which is the pilot-light version 6-gallon type which works very well for us. There is no doubt a direct-spark ignition version of this one availabel (for more money).
If ours ever drops dead I'd be tempted to get the direct-spark ignition version: you can start it from the inside of the trailer, and I think the ease of restarting it might make it much more convenient to generally leave it off when not needed, saving gas. On the other hand, the pilot
light on ours seems to keep us in hot water
without needing to kick the main burner on. Seems like it kicks on when starting up and then we don't hear from the main burner any more.
