Noisey Scamp furnace

I was getting my Scamp ready for a trip today and turned on the furnace. After the blower had been on for about a minute it let out a screech that scared the out of me.
I decided to fix it today and was not looking forward to it as I have never worked on a furnace. It turned out to be a fairly easy job. The only thing that held my furnace in was 2 sheet metal screw in the front and the rusty combustion air exhaust pipe to the outside. After disconnecting the gas line, 4 wires and removing the outside exhaust flange the furnace came out fairly easily.
On the back of the furnace there is a cover for the exhaust bower fan that is easily removed. I cleaned out 2 wasp nests from the blower fan assembly, oiled the front and rear bushings on the fan motor and tightened all of the loose sheet metal screw on the furnace assembly. After replacing the blower cover I used 2 jumper wires from a 12v battery to the fan motor and it ran for about an hour on the bench in my shop without any noise. It is now back in the trailer and running very quietly.
I have read a few comments about noisey furnaces and thought I would let you know that it is not a very difficult job to quite them down.

Be supercareful messing around with the sheet metal in a standard RV furnace -- The combustion side of the furnace is separated from the interior air circulation side of the furnace and you don't want any leaks between the two or you risk CO and/or CO2 gasses inside the egg.

You are probably right Brian. As I remember the slide in camper that I had years ago had a furnace that looked like this one as did the Prowler that I just sold.
It is a Suburban. I have to remove it to get the model #, when you take the grill off it the front is about 10" X10' and about 22" deep.

John, I performed the same service, but it only worked for a short time and the screech (which could make the people in the diesel pusher wet the bed) came back. I'm in the process of replacing the fan motor.
