Noisy Endless Breeze Fan

It's getting to be camping season soon here in Florida. So I just bought an Endless Breeze fan and frankly am dissappointed at how noisy it is as it's advertised as being quiet.

The motor has a whine and it's louder than a regular household fan.

Is it possible I have a defective unit?

If you have an Endless Breeze, how noisy is it?

Thanks.

my ENDLESS BREEZE FAN doesn't seem to be very noisy. No whine. Just moving air is going to make some noise, so they're not absolutely quiet. When I've used mine I've kept it on low, just enough to move air across me while I sleep.

Mine is only noisy from the air it moves which is considerable.
My Fantastic fan also makes a lot of air noise but the fan itself is quiet or I would return it.

I have a Max/Fan that is quiet when running on low. We like it because it keeps the moisture out of the trailer.

Fantastic makes kits where you install a resistor in the fan and it halfs the speed, thereby making it more quiet.

Endless Breeze

I wonder if that may have something to do with it being a simple portable "box" fan, oriented vertically, but not anchored to anything? Could vibration through the feet against whatever surface it is placed on have a noise effect?

I love my Fantastic Fan that is permanently mounted horizontally in my roof vent so much that I am seriously considering one or two Endless Breeze units for the canvas pop-up area of my Compact Jr. I'm not far enough along with the rebuild to purchase fans, but I'm watching for sales. Now I'm curious about how its noise compares with the Fantastic Fan.

Maybe I should have been more clear?
I have both an Endless Breeze and an installed Fantastic Fan and neither is really noisy as a fan but they both move so much air that the noise of the air is not inaudible, sometimes I wish I had the resistor installed and could run the fans at lower speeds but they certainly move the air they are designed to move.

Thanks for all the responses.

The fan was tested on a solid surface and the whine of the motor is separate from the sound of the fan and moving air.

I thought perhaps it was because the power pack I had it running off puts out a modified sine wave and that caused it.

Tried it in a vehicle and same result.

I'm going to return it. Maybe try another one, maybe not. I could live with just the sound of the fan and air; not the whine.
