Old Scamp Hubcaps! #*$@!!

Our Draggin' Egg needs hub caps, and not just any old hub caps either, OEM. Could I trouble someone to pop a cap off and measure it for me? I need the depth and inside back diameter and outside back diameter, so I can go over to ebay and look. Baby Moons, that is. I realize some of you aren't having 70 & 80 degree weather like us , so ya'll are exempt from my pitiful request.

PLEEZE?
:angel

Thanks!

Oh don't be upset, Don

I was actually poking fun at myself.

Casitas don't have hubcaps. Except as an add-on. I suppose they don't need them, which is why you accuse me of being MODERN.

Never thought about it before.

I'll go back to minding my own business for a bit.

And I'm really not a snob

Not about TT's, that is.

I had an older Casita... and I really loved it. Only reason we got a newer one was my husband wanted to see what it would be like to be able to stand up inside.

Well, not the only reason, but I really, really, really liked my older Casita... :wub

And the ''new'' one has needs, too... they're just different.

I'll bet. We went to Garner State Park this weekend on our Scamp's maiden voyage. Beautiful weekend. We even saw and photographed a porcupine! Fished and hiked. The Scamp was nice, but naked, WITHOUT HUBCAPS!

At the risk of being told this goes under Campouts and Rallies...

Congrats on your first trip out, Don!

Garner SP isn't too far from Lost Maples, which is the site of the Texas Bluebonnet Casita Fest (or is it the Casita Texas Bluebonnet Fest? :o ) - and I can hardly wait to go to Lost Maples (first weekend in April). Maybe we'll get to see a porky-pine, too! (A golden cheeked warbler would be an even bigger thrill.)

Good luck with those hub caps. (Thread back on topic now.)

Don, Necked wheels. poor little thangs
what not just paint the wheels some nice color like matching white. then when you need to check the heat you don't have to pop the hubs off. I have hubs, and I don't think I will keep them, but they are not the moon ones, or we would already be talking. mine look like megs, except the hole part is just black paint. looks Okay from a distance, but up close, I don't know. maybe Tony would like them for spares. IF I deside to get rid of them.

Hubcaps

Don-Since everything else is under 4 feet of snow up here and we are getting hit once again with freezing rain and snow it is with some pleasure that I am pleased to be able to give you the dimensions of the Boler 13 foot hubcaps(which I believe are the same as Scamp) .Pleased primarily because I can finally explain to my wife why I have trailer parts scattered all over the house-that is to say I can now stand up with some pride and announce-I'm an "on-line"resource and that pile of stuff in the corner is essential for that role. The dimensions you asked for are-centre(center) depth-2 and a half inches.Inside diameter-approx 9 and three eighths.Outside -just over nine and a half inches. You can go to a wrecker or if you are near a place that specializes in used hubcaps/wheel rims and ask for older Pinto units or there are several GM Truck caps that will fill this role.

Now if anyone has any easy questions about VW engines I may be able to explain the engine in my basement also and life will be good.

Baby moons (hubcaps, that is)

Don, Before you buy some on ebay, check the baby moon prices @ J.C. Whitney, or for that matter, @ your local Pep Boys/Auto Zone, etc. (Unless nothing but "Vintage" will do)...I love the look of painted wheels with moons and trim rings myself, although I'm considering a nice pair of Kelsy-Hays wires to match my Corvairs (although a set of those will cost more than the trailer!:wave
