ordering new hinges

I am having a problem ordering new hinges for a 1977 Trillium 1300. I have sent 2 emails to the trillium factory with my Canadian address (as instructed on the order form) to get the shipping cost and have not heard back from them. These were sent a month ago.
What am I doing wrong?

Are you talking about Outback / Trillium, in Calgary?

Maybe give Jo Thoen, (the owner) a call (403) two seven two - 3929.

Or if it is Trillium in the US, give Tom a call. He is not great with emails. Plus he recently started selling stuff in Canada through Can Am in London.

No. I got on the trillium rv site in California. I didn't know they sold new parts in Calgary or London, ON. Do they have a website?

Best to phone either Calgary or California, both are not quickly responsive to emails. They are old school, fax and phone kind of people.

As to Can Am in London, I know they carry some of the new items that Tom from California has recently sourced; namely an "Ensolite" replacement and the T molding. I don't know if they carry any other items.

I just noticed that they will be at the RV show in Toronto next weekend. Tom from California was up for that last year. Might explain the lack of response to your enquiry.

Are you sure you need new hinges? Most door problems are usually due to the wood rotting and screws coming loose on Trilliums.

I don't really need them. The door swings freely. It's just that the pins are rusted and I was going to change them to improve their looks. Would Navy Jelly work to remove the rust?

Perhaps, or CLR? Both cost a lot less.
Getting them rechromed might be a lot cheaper than new.

If they're chrome, Naval Jelly will stain the chrome.

Try something cheap... that really does work. Water and aluminum foil! It won't be perfect, so it's about expectations. However, it's easy and cheap and if it doesn't give you the look you're hoping for, then move to something else.

Hot rodders have used this for years. Only use Beer instead of water. Maybe that's because there was no water available? Fold the aluminum foil shiny side out..

Really, try it!
