I wonder whether this VHB tape is strong enough to hold up an awning rail equipped with a bag awning? Or a table rail on the outside of the trailer? How about a deck hinge to support the arms that hold up your rock guard? Can you think of any other applications for it?

The 1/2" wide tape has a tensile strength of 85 lbs.

Since I've pulled down the ugly stripe of headliner carpet that ran front to back on my ceiling, I've been mulling around how to attach a new finish up there. This tape seems to be overkill, but I like the idea of not having to deal with glue or sprays - just peel and stick.
I'd like to use wood tambour (the stuff they use for the roll-top desks) but can't get past the price to buy it. So maybe it will just be bendable plywood or something. I really like the idea of using wood up there.

In a last house remodel, we were able to purchase cedar stripes that had a sticky back to put in our "cedar closet." If I remember right, it also came in knotty pine and oak. Don't know if the stuff is still available, but it came in random lengths in a package... at a big box store like Lowes or Home Depot. It was real thin, like veneer... rather than heavy like plywood.
