Paint or dye? Flap or vent?

OK all of you Rustoleum vinyl painters, does it eventually flake? I want to spruce up the interior walls and ceiling of my Scamp (has the vinyl-covered foam stuff - ensolite?) but have heard dyeing may be better. Any comments?

Also, the former owner put a wall-mount (actually, closet-mount) AC next to the door in my 13 footer. The new repacement AC I bought is not as deep and therefore leaves a large hole (19 1/2 " wide by 13" tall) in the side of the trailer. Should I consider a closable fiberglass flap - and can you get this material for making such from Scamp? Or would a vent suffice?

So many questions - so much fun!

spray vinyl etc

I sprayed mine with vinyl just last spring - OK so far, but not too long of a test. Although, I know I bump up against the stuff on a regular basis... Does that count as abuse?

AC - I assume the old AC unit stuck clear out the side of the trailer??? Anyway - if it's where I think it is, that's a fairly common place to mount an AC unit. MOST of them however don't stick out the side. Vent panels are usually installed to let the unit breath.
