I appologise if this is already been addressed, I couldn't seem to get an answer by searching

I am needing to know how to paint the interior of my Boler. I have read that exterior latex is the way to go. Just wondering who has done this and how it worked out? Also wondering if there is any prep involved (Clean with TPS ect)

New to this site, just joined today. Just bought an 75 Boler. I have wanted one for years! I have owned it for 2 weeks now and am so happy! I have been doing loads of cosmetic work on it. Had the frame welded in some weak spots. Making new curtains, painting cupboard doors... Fixing it up to look totally retro. I will post some pics once I am done. And once I figure out how!

Thanks for any help and advise,

Shanon

My girlfriend and I just recently bought a 1970 boler and just finished painting. Here's what we did and it seems to be holding up perfectly.

1) Wash down walls with TSP and a good bristle brush (horse brush works well)

2) Prime with Kilz or Zinser oil based primer . . we did 2 coats

3) Paint with any latex paint ( we used CIL kitchen & bath pure white)

got everything from Home Depot and was fairly simple to do, just make sure you get an good roller to work with especially in the corners and if you're tall get a painter's hat or shower cap . . .i got some paint in my hair and good luck getting it off without cutting

Good Luck!!!

I went the considerably more 'toxic' route and painted with Krylon plastic paint. I prepped using a citrus cleaner and rinsed lots, followed by a wipedown with varsol, then a wipedown with acetone immediately before painting. It was a messy job, but the end result is very nice.
