Another problem you may have is out of date bottles. The
DOT mandates all bottles be date stamped. Out of date bottles may not be exchanged or filled.
I think 10 years or twelve is the limit. Then bottles have to be recertified or replaced. Recertification lasts for five years and is not cheap. Aluminum bottles are worth recertification. Some dealers will not fill a dark colored bottle because of the potential heat problem. I prefer to have my bottles filled rather than exchanged. Exchanged bottles will not have 20 pounds of
propane in them!
