Park Liner Support

I'm just curious, for those of you that have already received your Park Liner, how is the support from Chandler? I'm a little concerned because of hearing complaints of his failing to respond to emails and phone calls from people that have trailers on order. If he can't respond to customers and/or potential customers, I'm a little concerned that he may not respond if there are issues after the sale. I know it's a small company with growing pains, but I fear if the growing pains aren't addressed it will be forever a small or maybe nonexistent company.

I see you have a Parkliner on order, Carol- have you yourself had communication problems with the builder?

Yes, I have had some issues. He eventually gets back to you after you try enough times, but I was hoping with their hiring Cameron to help with customer service it would be better now.

They were going to hire another employee but it remains to be seen if this will solve the problem in the future. I guess that does not help you out here today. Best of luck.

Bear in mind that it is a tiny company.

I can see why after-purchase support/feedback would be a concern, but I'm a little mystified as to what might be going wrong during the build phase... Presumably the unit's being built according to a set of agreed-on specifications, so it's not like there'd be design decisions to be kicked around.

If anyone's inclined to share, I'm curious as to what kind of issues might come up between the time one orders a trailer and receives it. Is it that delivery dates are mushy or something?

Thanks!

Francesca

Carol, it is a real small company and he wears a few hats. As the volume increases he will bring on more staff. Now he gets back to me when I ask him questions and I bought mine used. He stands behind his product, relax.

Myself, I would not be too concerned with the communications after you gave him all the specs.
BTW.....from all the photos and those that own the ParkLiner, it really looks like a quality camper!
Congrats on your purchase!

We spent an hour and a half at Parkliner this afternoon and it was a revelation. Their square footage was probably half of what we expected it would be. Only a maximum of, maybe, 4 units can be worked on at any one time. Chandler was not there when we arrived (we were not expected until tomorrow AM) so his staff was giving us the tour when Chandler showed up after 45 minutes or so. During the 45 minutes we spent with Chandler, his phone must have gone off at least a dozen times. He would take note of the number but, as he was dealing directly with us, he let it go to voice mail. Chandler is not only the designer, he is also the office staff. He does ordering, billing, marketing, sales, as well as assisting in construction. His staff are construction specialists with years of experience in yacht building, carpentry and one is even a retired shop teacher. They are not customer service reps but each is incredibly knowledgeable in their own area of expertise. Chandler has got a lot of jobs that he is managing to juggle all at the same time. In the telephone/email relationship we have had since placing our order last November, he has never failed to respond to any of my inquiries. It may have taken a couple of days but with a little patience, I always got the information I needed. He now has a very personable and enthusiastic young man on staff managing the Parkliner website and Facebook page and has improved that communication channel by an order of magnitude.

I should point out that when I placed my order in November, I could have gotten my ParkLiner sometime in December. The selection of an April pick up date was my choice. If one were to place an order for a ParkLiner today, the earliest delivery day is now some time in August. They are not a big assembly line. Rather, they are handcrafting each unit with care and precision. They test all components and their dedication to quality is second to none.

I guess I am a little biased and passionate about the Parkliner because, after several months of anticipation, ours will finally be following us up the road tomorrow. Given my interaction with Chandler and Parkliner to date, I don't anticipate any problems and thoroughly expect that any problems that might arise will be resolved to our mutual satisfaction. If not, I've never been terribly shy and will be more than willing to share the bad with the good, should it come to that, which I sincerely doubt.

You can be confident of a long, secure relationship with any fiberglass camper manufacturer. A few are even still in business after 10 years.

Chandler is a very busy guy but I do think things will work out for you. As for myself, I stopped on the way to Florida in Feb. and had a couple of things done. But Chandler and his crew went through my trailer with a fine tooth comb and did some extra things I didn't expect all on his tab. I do know he has hired someone for customer service and I'm sure in time it will work out. When I was there I looked through a new 2013 and it was a real beauty, mag wheels and all. I'm sure you will be happy with your new trailer.

Hi Tim,
Glad your Florida trip went well and your stop at ParkLiner met and exceeded expectations. Thanks for helping to get the ball (trailer?) rolling for us.
Best to you and Rita,

Thanks for all the positive feedback! It helps to ease my mind . This is my first camper so I'm hoping the support will be there if I need it.

Carol, I understand your apprehension. This towable will probably your third biggest asset. Just remember, none of the manufacturers build anything other than the bodies and frames, EVERYTHING else comes from a different manufacturer with separate warranties. Following the forums, I haven't read where Chandler or Alan or Reace leaves anyone in a lurch. Customer support seems to be very good for all the "start ups." Besides, we've got your back if you run into problems or concerns. Count on it
