Pig Tail Connection

I noticed last week as we were backing into our camping spot (after an hour's drive) that the right brake light wasn't functioning. When we hooked up to leave, we checked it and it was fine. But when we reached home, it was out again. We jiggled the electric connection and the light came on.

Any ideas for preventing a loose connection on the road?

Thanks!

Kim,

See Joe's thread:

I also noticed that Camper's Choice has plug covers:

Pit Tail Connection

Here's a FWIW, something else to think about thing regarding the electrical
connection between trailer and tow vehicle. On our way to Sequoia/Kings NP
last week, I pulled into a rest stop to shake the stiffness out of my knee
and Patti noticed the plug was disconnected between truck and trailer. It
was hanging loose but fortunately hadn't dragged on the pavement. It came
from the Casita factory with a threaded plastic thingy to hold the plug in
place and I know it was in place when we left home. I can only speculate
that the wire had gotten tangled in the handle for tightening the sway bar
and pulled loose, ripping apart the thingy which was gone, while I was
doing some tight maneuvering at my last gas stop. From now on, I'm gonna
keep that possibility in mind when I hook up for travel.

Rich

"threaded plastic thingy"

:wave :o should have asked someone at lake casitas about those threaded plastic thingy's. noticed several of them and assumed they probably came from cw.
went to the nearest cw and they didn't know what i was talking about, and had no better description.
will somebody tell me what to call'em and how to get a couple.?

Multi Clamp

Lou,

The one I use is called a Multi Clamp and is made by CamcoRV. You can find them at Wal Mart in their RV section. I carry an extra as I had one break when I was tightening it up. Hope that helps.

Hook and Eye plastic thingy

My Casita is oooold (1999) and didn't come with a threaded plastic thingy. :E

What I use is a velcro strap wrapped around the lift-up cover to hold the latch in place. Works great and I can use it to hold the cable to the tongue when disconnected. :lol

trailer plug holder

I use one of those little bungie loops with a ball on the end. Also a wal-mart item.
