Polish over 100% acrylic

Wondering how I can gloss up & protect a the lower part of my Boler.. Used acrylic exterior paint and it's too flat.

Would one of the red max or polyglo solutiona do the trick? Wondering if I made a bad choice with this paint... Any advice is appreciated, as always

What about another glossy coat? RedMax is not made to be applied over paint.

I went crazy when I used Red Maxx and used it on my painted Bumper Box, my painted propane tank. my painted battery box and my painted front frame members. There is at least one person who used it on his painted class C motorhome.

I certainly don't know the long term effect but it certainly looks nice initially. I will say even though some of these surfaces are not smooth like the Scamp, they now glow.

Do you know what I should be looking for? Is it an adhesion problem?

It will probably become yellowish and chip. In which case buy the stripper and get everything removed. Read the instructions. I is clear. They indicate on what kind of material it can be applied and painted surfaces are not on the list, painted concrete is specifically excluded. They also mention that it should not be used on porous and painted material and on vinyl like, for instance Allure floors, that are recommended as "no wax" material.

Here are those instructions.
.
" Use on interior floors such as rubber, asphalt tile, vinyl, vinyl composition, sealed concrete, terrazzo and no-wax vinyl floors that have lost their original factory finish. Not recommended for use on wood, marble, granite, natural stone, painted or stained concrete, glazed ceramic tile and newer no-wax vinyl floors."

You need to wait about a week or 2 after it was painted (with no booth) but the acryic enamel paints you need to cut polish it....any body shop supply place will have some real fine polish to use. As its semi gloss try a bit of regular metal polish in a small area....it will let you know how shiny you can bring it out....if it all fails you could always have it clear coated.

Oops!

I did at least 4 painted surfaces. I think I'll leave it on and see what happens. If it starts to peel I'll strip it off the painted surfaces.

Thanks for the info.

Another Perspective

I had reclled that Gary in SoCal at post #233 used Red Maxx on his Class C, He stated that his painted cab 5 was coated 5 months ago and he has seen no ill effects.
