Porch Light

Hi everyone!

Trying to fix all the bugs in my new purchase and noticed that the porch light does not work. I tried a new bulb and also cut and re-spliced the two wires in the light housing. The bulb was old and worn, so I just matched one up from Walmart.

Anyone have a clue as to what # bulbs are needed for this and the other ones? All of the numbers are either worn or missing on the bulbs.

To the porch light. Has anyone replaced one of these and have any clues as how to install them? Looks like they are riveted to the shell. There does seem like there was a little condensation inside the housing. Then again, I tried a voltmeter to the bare wires and didn't get any readings at all.

Thanks in advance!

porch light

Dave:

My 2000 had the porch light go bad in one year. It gets all the runoff from the door gutter.

No problem to replace. Drill out the rivets. A new fixture is cheap.

Put come caulk across the inside top of the new fixture. :)

Don,

Thanks for the answer! I will call Casita and order one (along with a few other odds and ends).

Camperschoice.com

Extra fixture is M121 at Campers Choice. They come with a clear lens. Add the amber replacement lens (M151). Helps reduce the bugs! Total $7.75 + shipping. This same lens is a direct replacement for the ones on Casitas. (Some other lenses look like they will fit, but tabs must filed down to fit.)

Dave,
Do a search on Porch light. I've been documenting my porch light troubleshooting process etc.

Dave,
Here is a link to a light fixture/lamp number table I created a while back. The information was taken from my '99 SD Casita.
