Portable propane fire pit - regulator freezing up

I purchased a portable fire pit (little red) and am having a problem with the regulator freezing up. I used the propane bottle from my home grill so I do not think it is a problem with that tank. I thought maybe an over filled tank but with the OPD... not sure if that is possible. Anyone have any ideas or solutions?

sounds like a bad or wrong regulator, can you take it back?

Bought it at camping world, I am sure that they would take it back. I doubt that it is the wrong regulator since it came with the fire pit. But it could be bad. I talked to a friend and he suggested that I try a 16 oz bottle just to see if it will freeze up with a different propane source. I figure next time I am out I will try it if it does freeze up again I will see about taking it back.

Do you know anybody that has a manometer and can measure the regulated propane pressure ?
It sounds like it is letting to much propane threw.

I have had regulator Freeze due to internal moistiture an low temperatures. On the older ones you could open them to dry them but I think all the new ones are sealed. I guess that makes them disposable.
