Power inlet dimensions needed

Pictured below is a Marinco Parkpower 150BBIW.RV 15 A. power inlet. Would someone who has one please tell me the diameter of the flange. I am thinking of replacing the square one on our trailer and want to see if it will cover the existing holes. Thanks, Raz

You might have to get creative and make an adapter plate to cover your existing holes, or can this be adapted to your existing inlet. Bob

I drilled a new hole and made the older hatch opening bigger and installed a new hatch cover, you may need to get behind to do some wiring.

I checked my Marinco supplier info.. no spec.

Call Marinco and ask. I am sure they would be happy to tell you.

The 15a one is not a big seller anymore. Hopefully, they aren't priced like the 30 or 50a...you'll need a second mortgage!

The trailer came with the square 30 amp inlet and the big heavy yellow cord. I know, big bucks. But we're boon dockers. I don't even take the cord the me. So my plan is to adapt the very expensive square plug to 15a or replace it with one of these. I would rather do the latter. I'm sure someone else can put the cord and the inlet to much better use. I am hoping the flange will cover the present hole with enough fiberglass for the new inlet screws. Marinco doesn't even tell you you need to cut a 1 7/8 hole to install this one. Thanks all for responding. I'm just looking at options. I am sure someone has one of these on the side of there rig. Raz

Not sure if I have this, but I think I do. Haven't installed it yet.

I'll check dimensions when I get home today.

Fixing your old holes with bondo is very doable ...

This install uses the same hole that Trillium had the cord comming out of. I used an aluminum plate to make up the size difference. Otherwise it would go right through the orignal hole.

That input connector is about $20 on Amazon:
Amazon.com: Marinco 150BBIW Marine On-Board Charger Inlet (15-Amp, 125-Volt, White): Sports & Outdoors

My 15 amp marinco inlet is:

2 inch hole required
2 1/2 inch diameter outside ( 1/4 inch flange around the outside) .

Decided to go the same route David did. Ordered the inlet from Amazon. Thanks to all. Raz

If somebody wants a piece or two of white ABS plastic to blend in better than aluminum (fits curves easily, too), I make a lot of smaller pieces of scrap when fabricating widgets.

Send me a message with your address and I'll send you a piece or two (envelope size max) free. Will be going to Utah Sept 6-23rd, tho.

It is a bit late for Raz, hopefully someone else can use the idea.
I'm thinking it would fit in the existing hatch like the water inlet does.

Roy, the advantage of the Marinco unit is that it doesn't provide an access route for rodents, or spiders. The adapter plate allows it to be installed in the same hole that the power cord came out of. Your last picture looks exactly like what I removed to put in the 15A power inlet on my trailer.

I hear you Dave,
I was thinking the 2-1/2" size would fill the 2-1/2" hole and any gaps like the water inlet in the middle picture. I guess you would need both in hand to be sure.

This would also work if you only require 15 amps.

I did this type of mod on my Compact Jr. I did not use the Marinco unit mentioned, but one from a different manufacturer. Mine took a LOT of machining plastic and adhesive to accomplish it. It's the fitting to the upper left.

The rest of the story

That was awhile ago. I ended up making an adapter plate to fit the 15 amp fixture into the existing cover.
