If the distributor had to pay to ship the bad generator back to the dist center and then had to pay a technician to repair it, they would quickly exceed the value of the used unit. In short, they would have more in it than the wholesale price of a new one.

The service department of many of these import & sell companies is often a part time job for someone in the shipping/wharehouse dept. that happens to have a toolbox in their truck...
