Private message help

Someone told me to just tap to the left of a poster's name and then I can send that person a private message. When I do that, it sends me to their profile data. What am I doing wrong?

Linda, if you click on their name, and not the profile photo, a drop down menu will pop up with some options, and one is to send the member a private message.

It only works that way if you are logged in. If not, you do get sent to the profile. So double-check the upper right corner for login status.

Logged in. That's right.

I haven't been able to include pictures in my posts. Where is the help file to do that?

Easier to explain it than to locate the instructions…

In the toolbar above the message box, click on the paperclip icon. This will take you to a new tab or window called "Manage Attachments." Go to the section that says "Upload File from your Computer." Choose up to four photos, then hit "upload" (way over at the right). Be prepared to wait a while, since larger photos will be automatically resized. Once it's done, return to your post.

Now the confusing part. You won't see the pictures, because they haven't been inserted into your post yet - they are waiting in a queue. Place your cursor in the post where you want the picture to appear. Then hit the paperclip icon again. This time a drop-down menu will appear, which should have all the pictures you uploaded. Choose the one you want. You still won't see the picture, but you should see something pop up into the post indicating an attachment. Repeat for each photo.

NOTE - I think it may be possible to repeat the above two steps if you want more than four photos in a single post, but I am not sure - never needed to.

You're done, but I would recommend using the "Preview Post" first to make sure everything is the way you intended. Now you should actually see the pictures. Last, hit "Submit Reply."

Hope this helps!

It's actually easier to post pictures if you aren't logged in. You just hit reply and you will see what looks like a few pictures stacked together (it's the second icon to the left) about mid screen right above the keyboard. That will take you to your pictures and you can select from there. You then hit upload....you will see: below your message. But if you look down at the little icon screen mid screen, the picture you selected will be there along with a red number indicating how many pictures you uploaded. Then just hit the REPLY button.

If you want to confirm that you selected the correct picture, just select the little picture, the keyboard will slide down and the picture will appear. If that's not the picture you want, select it and you can delete it and try again.

If you're using the app, you are always logged in. It does it automatically.
