Propane Regulator Replacement

I have a 13 foot 1980 Boler. I had to replace the propane regulator as the old one was leaking. When installing the new regulator I noticed an oily propane smelling liquid coming out of the propane line from the trailer, when reconnecting the line to the regulator. What is this? Is this normal? Any help appreciated. Thank you.

There are oils added to gas fuels to impede corrosion in the big tanks -- Sounds like you had some sort of buildup in your system. You might want to disconnect the line at the regulator and blow out the line from insided with compressed air.

You might also want to check out the line at a later date because it's possible the oil is coming from your tank.

If you still have the old regulator, you might want to try taking it apart to see if it is clogged with oil from the tank.

You may want to purge the tank and lines.I had a similiar problem a few years ago. The oily build up was from a bulk delivery truck left over residue.I ended up back flushing with acetone.
