I am certainly leaning towards putting a Propex in my Campster. Nice to know there is an Oregon dealer, thanks for posting that. Although there is a dealer right in my neighborhood but I would have to pay substantial sales tax there

And I am wondering if this can be a DIY install... and where it would go on a Scamp 16 Std. Without considering it seriously, I doubt that underneath is a good idea but maybe...

Gordon, I installed one inside our Lil Snoozy, and Denny Wolfe installed one outside his Lil Snoozy, so it is a DIY install, that is not difficult. It is only about the size of a shoe box, so even inside it takes up less room than a regular furnace. If your 16' Scamp is like our 13' Scamp was, I would put it under the dinette bench right next to the water heater, since it is wasted space anyway, and your propane line can easily be taped into there. Our trailers are different and my water heater is under the sink. I could put a furnace in the dinette seat on the port side, but then it would be right under my head. The slight hum from my surge protector / EMS that is in that space already bothers me some. I actually think I would be quite happy losing my water heater and putting a furnace in that space if it would fit. Of course I would have a large square hole in the side of the trailer to deal with too. I have not thought about it much yet since I use a Wave 3 when I need heat, but I do think I will want a furnace by the time the Wave gets near end of life for the catalytic element.

I assume you are happy with it and it is as good as rumored? I didn't buy the cheaper furnace that Scamp offers when I ordered my trailer because I wanted something better eventually.

Gordon, I am happy with it but if I were to do it all over again, I would have purchased the higher BTU unit. We were used to the 13' Scamp to heat with small Coleman Sport Cat or the furnace in the Scamp, but now that we are heating the larger space of the Lil Snoozy, the furnace runs longer than I would like to bring the area up to the desired warmth.
