Protecting aluminum trim

I gave my '76 Trillium the Zep treatment last year and loved it. It still looks great even after the winter - still shiny and no black streaks!

So now I'm cleaning up the aluminum trim. Almost 40 years of corrosion and silicon - oh the silicon! - are coming up pretty good. Once done I'd like to protect it with something. Has anyone tried Zep Wet Look on metal? Will it last or just create more of a mess in the long run? Is there anything better?

I zep the aluminium belly band and the black anodize on the window frames with no issues. After 2 years the top of the trailer took a beating in direct sun all the time and I used zep stripper and hot water to clean it all off and then re-zep the whole trailer again. other than the zep yellowing with age it doesn't seem to harm anything. Just strip it and do it over. Zep sure makes it easier to was and keep clean. Just remember to use car wash soap to do the washing so you don't strip the zep when you don't want to.
