Question for 16' Scamp owners -Roof brace

I have been looking at the 17' SD Casita trailers because the have a bigger bed.(52") I know that Casita makes a Liberty trailer also with a huge bed. But the trailer also weight's 1000 lbs more than a 16' Scamp. Is it possable to remove the roof brace in the 16' Scamp? Is the roof brace pop riveted on the top? I would also need to cut off the fiberglass bottom and make some kind of removable brace. Has anyone done this? The bed in the scamp is only 46" wide and way to small for two adults,if I could remove the brace only when sleeping then I would have a 56" wide bed and not have to crawl over the wife in the morning, because you could sleep length wise in the trailer.Click image for larger version

Yes, Kevin roof brace is riveted to roof and down the sides.....What would you do on sink, stove side? I have a 16 side dinette and I have threatened to tear that brace out , move bench closer to other one ( making table smaller) and tearing out sink /stove cabinet and build my own, basically making a custom deluxe.......but for now we enjoy the closeness!!!!

The picture is not my trailer. I used it for an example.
I would leave the sink and stove side alone.
56"wide is better than 46" wide.
I like the Casita 17' but that extra 1000 lbs is a bad idea.

Kevin, so for an example my trailer is a 16 side dinette, you would have one side (dinette) 56 in, other side (sink/stove) 46 in. My brace doesnt actually go down and attach to floor, more acts like a seat back, so was thinking you could ( probably get blasted for this thought) make a half moon brace attach to roof and side as far down as you wanted to go, or put cabinets in much like Parkliner, Dont know how other Scamp layouts would work since they have the cabinets on both sides as far as I know....
