QUESTIONS on Trillium Ensolite removed.

Hi,
Here is a picture with the Ensolite rip off.
But there's residue of the backing.
The question is "Is there a trick to remove what's left?
Maybe their's a liquid cleaner that will help to do the job.
But witch one ?
Is it a good Idea to put something else under the new ensolite to add insolation?
If so What?
Is there a place in or near Montréal where I can buy ensolite.?

This is no help at all, but I simply have to ask:

Is this the trailer pictured in the thread at this link? If it is...did you tear out all the Ensolite, and if so, may I ask why?

Yes , I rip it off because it was rip at some places, and their was moisture
behind it.

Acetone does work to remove the residue. Just be carefull as it can wreck the fibrglass

Why not scrape off/ sand off the big chunks then proceed with new installation?



If I remember correctly Trillium still sells ensolite! Just contact them to purchase it. They should be able to recommend what to use for added insulation as well.

Welcome to the forum.

My suggestion would be to maybe slow down a little bit and do some searches on the forum for Trillium renovations. There is a vast wealth of knowledge contained here.

Once most of the ensolite is scraped off a twisted wire wheel brush on a 4" or 4.5" grinder is the best to get off the remaining foam residue.

Ryan just completed the ensolite replacement on his Trillium Sportsman and it cost him (with glue) about $1,500. He bought the ensolite from TrilliumRV.

Instead of oak, or maple, I think I would replace the frame around the windows with marine plywood. I would also paint it with a good paint.
