Quick belly band question - Page 2 - Fiberglass RV

Yeah Ron, I think my biggest job with the 'belly band' area will be getting all the caulk (silicone?) out of the seam well enough that the new epoxy will adhere properly to the fiberglass. I'll use a utility knife first to 'cut' the stuff out that's in there now, then wire wheel to get the worst of it out, then dress the seam/crack with a brass wire wheel & clean it thoroughly with acetone before 'filling' the void with new epoxy/filler. Probably hafta do the 'fill' in layers as I want to make sure it does a good job at sealing so NO moisture can get inside after it's all cured & the new paint job or trim piece is applied.
