recommendations on new interior wall covering?

We bought our '72 Boler last spring, the previous owner had installed reasonably deep pile carpet over the entire interior. While he did a great job, we're going to replace it (previous owner had a cat, our daughter is allergic to cats. not a good equation! and I'd like something with some insulation). Over the past year, I've seen links in these forums for products you all have recommended... some similar to ensolite, etc. Now I can't find them, search as I may!

Any ideas, or experience, on where you've purchased new 'skin' for the insides of your eggs? Thanks in advance! Luke

DannyH was lucky enough to be able to salvage his original ensolite.

I have replaced the "bad" insulation and wall covering on a few projects using "Reflectix" insulation (essentially silver-backed bubble-wrap, approx 1/4" thick—available at Lowes, Home Depot, etc.) and heavy duty upholstery fabric or automotive headliner material.

The Reflectix is exactly what Scamp uses in their current production models, though they use "rat fur" (hides a multitude of production flaws) as a top layer.

thank you ALL. this has been some interesting reading. I guess I need to do some more searching on how many square feet the inside of a boler is. OR dig thru the snow to get into storage and measure it! regardless, thanks a bunch for the tips.

I just received a reply from AeroParadise.comLLC. Eric tells me he used coroplast, corrugated plastic material that takes the shape of the interior walls. The upholstry fabric is then glued to the coroplast. This material is the same used in experimental aircraft interiors. It is lighter than alumalite.

We use coroplast at work for making outdoor signs. I can't imagine bending it, other than scoring and bending to a 90 degree. It's doubtful it would mold to the corners of an egg-shaped trailer. Before purchasing a bunch, I'd get a small sample and try it for your application.
