. It adds more material to the front, but when sanded and varnished it looks pretty good. I used 3M 4200 Fast Cure to glue it to the cabinet. Clamp it overnight and you're good to go.
Hi Ron, Lindsey here, Matts wife...I am the one who bungled the veneer up. I do all the fine detail things since Matt doesn't have patience for those types of things. He does the heavy lifting so to speak.
That was the look & finish I had planned upon. I thought about going with a thicker cut (was planning on bamboo too, actually) but ended up with a thin pine veneer since we only have one specialty wood store here which is an hour away & none of the big box stores have any selection of thin cuts, I guess I should have gone with my gut and went with a thicker piece but driving that way twice (we went once & they were closed) just wasn't feasible.
