I have a newer 16 ft side dinette scamp that came with an air conditioner. I have never used the air conditioner and want to remove it and replace the opening with a skylight. Does anyone know any skylight that will fit the hole? I am looking for one that doesnt open, is permanent. Thanks Chuck and Julie

Just recently had a similar discussion here: Unusual Fiberglass Repair

and you may wish to read Kevin's topic here: Roof Vent

I went to the left side bar and clicked on Helpful-Links under Resources.

Then, in the new window, I clicked on RV Parts

There is a link to All-Rite and I clicked on that.

Their index lists "Skylights", so I clicked on that.

Here is a direct Link to what I found.

I hope this helps.

If you ever plan on traveling with your trailer and go south you might wish you had left the AC on the trailer.

Just something to think about.

We live in Northern Wisconsin and there are literally 50 beautiful parks within 1 1/2 hrs. We really like it here. Looking to put a plain doomed skylight without changing the opening so if I ever sell my scamp or go south, the air conditioner can be put back

I had a roof a/c on my previous Jayco 16' -- Since I only rarely camp with electrical hookups, it was a waste of weight and space and I replaced it with a more useful vent hatch -- Couldn't even give it away, so it went into the CG dumpster...

Maybe tho, you'd like to consider a Fantastic Fan... or such. Since you're removing the A/C, the electrical is already there, shouldn't be too hard to swap out. Just another idea.

We already have a fantastic fan and a crank open vent hatch. I saw a clear <strike>doom</strike> dome at Menards that just might work with a little silicone and a few screws.

Please post lost of pictures, this sounds like a very interesting modification. Before using silicone, you may want to read this topic: Butyl Tape, Silicone and sealing

When I was rebuilding my (then) house, I used to walk into Menard's and see "clear doom" too

As usual, the spelling police arrived late on the scene.
