Trailer: 1975 13 ft Boler
Posts: 6
I will be removing my 1975 boler from the trailer and have no idea how
to go about it. Looking at as much of the trailer as possible there seems to
be some very poor welding that has taken place. We have someone to repair
the trailer properly or get a new one, but I would like to make our volunteer
welders life easier by having the boler off. Any sites or help with this would
be a great help.

Thanks, Charlene

Hello Charlene,

I can't point you to anything specific off the top of my head, but I feel like I remember reading a number of threads here wherein folks have taken their campers off the frame (or at least, threads with discussion and then links to people's own sites that show the process).

I would search the forum first, and then because the search function can be a bit tricky, I would perform a Google search next (if you haven't found what you were looking for with forum search). Here's the format for that; just use the exact spacing shown with the site:fiberglassrv.com part:

words you are searching for site:fiberglassrv.com

this might help

taken from this website Boler Life - owning and working on a little egg on the right side of the website there is a list of how to do stuff, not sure if its the same year but gives you some idea, let me know how yo make out, i just bought a boler today, 1970. hope to bring it home in a week

Location of Bolts Fastening Coach to Frame
There are at least 16 bolts attaching the coach to the frame, most of them can be found above the two frame rails, some models have extra bolts in the cross members.
3 bolts are under each side in the back storage compartments.
1 bolt is under the furnace, the furnace has to be removed to get at it.
1 bolt is under the fridge, the fridge also has to be removed to get at it.
2 bolts are in the closet.
3 bolts are under each side in the front storage compartments.
If the bolts have worked loose over time the threads may have been worn away where they entered the frame. If this has happened they will spin in the frame and will not come out. They may sometimes be removed by prying up on the washer as the bolt is turned, it also helps to grip the bolt with visegrips and exert extra upward pressure as they are turned.

Great information for the archives, but it's doubtful charlenep will see the posting. She had Last Activity: 07-04-2010 03:46 PM on FiberglassRV.
