Removing Dometic RM211 Fridge

Ok, I've got all the screws removed from the front of the unit and the power and gas disconnected. Supposed to be a couple of screws in the back that go into the floor, but I cannot find them. Can't budge the fridge and sure can't find any screws in back. Does anyone know where they hide them?

On my fridge in the Boler there were screws in the bottom outside flange. There were also screws attaching it to the baffle that ran around it.

Why are you removing it? I have one that I need some parts for.

Well, I sure can't find them.
Removing everything down to the floor and walls for deep cleaning/renovation. Keeping fridge still working fine.

Does Scamp put sealer under them? Maybe that could be holding it in place if they do.

Finally found it. I believe it is what is referred to as "previous owner modifications."

I tore out the silverware drawer and they had pop riveted the top of the fridge to the top panel. Hopefully, I will be able to repair the rivet holes in the top of the fridge and get it reinstalled correctly.

Guess it's always a good idea to take everything out of these old eggs when you buy them and then put it back together in better fashion. Finding all kinds of issues under the galley that you can't see till you remove it. Looks like my flooring is A-OK though thanks to it being a Phoenix Scamp.

Guess it's always a good idea to take everything out of these old eggs when you buy them and then put it back together in better fashion.

That worked for me. Now I know the trailer from top to almost bottom (haven't done the frame yet).

I'm glad you were able to get it out! Like I said mine was screwed to the baffle which would have been under the drawer had the drawer not been long gone. I'll bet the rivets were factory.

Hi: Some of the ways the factory's put these "EGG's" together leaves one a little
When I changed the turnsignal/tail/stop and clearance lamps to LED's I found the ground wire just wraped around a mounting screw inside both sides of the trailer no fasteners I believe everything I do will make our Boler better

Alf, I had exactly the same tail lamp "ground" wiring, and I agree that by taking the time we need to do it the way we think is right, we'll all likely do a better job than the rushed worker in the factory of the 1970's. Amazingly, that bizarre wire connection worked in my B1700 until I removed the screw to clean the lamp...

Hi: Brian...my ground worked too one side bright one side dim every clearance light was a different style one was full of plumbers putty now they're all BRIGHT!!! Alf S. North shore of Lake Erie

Thanks Alf, I noticed the ground wire now that I have the fridge out and it is just wrapped around a screw just in front of the wheel well. I'll definitely do the Alf upgrade to that little connection.

Has anyone been successful in replacing the burner unit on a Dometic RM 211? I need one. I also need a cook top for my tripple E Surfside (Trillium style) kitchen. Can anyone help?

I have the same fridge but have not had to work on it except for raising it off the floor of the trailer. You can try "Cool It RV" in Edmonton, who specialize in RV fridges and have lots of used stuff. I got a replacement thermostat from them last year when I was working on another fridge in my previous trailer.

As for the cook top, you do not say what type of stove you have. I have found that both the Coleman and Brown two burner stoves from that era have tops which can be interchanged. You can try WK’s tent trailer rebuilder in Edmonton, or Murphy’s RV parts in Josephsburg. Both of those can be found on the internet for contact info and have lots of used parts. I got a Coleman stove top from WK’s a few years ago.
