Thumbs up

We are in the process of a complete strip out of our 77S13. We are at the point of taking out the kitchen. And wonder of wonders, we can't find the magic key that will allow us to remove either.
Let me explain that we bought the trailer, and it had a terrible smell of Clorox. Once that smell wore off there was an underlying odor. Turns out that squirrels/chipmunks had gotten into the trailer and built nests between the elephant skin and the fibergalss, using much of the foam insulation between the two. So, the elephant skin and foam have to go.
The windows have aluminum frames which are warped. So, those have to be replaced. The furnace is so rusted that we don't even want to find out if it might work. The frig is in nearly the same condition. No rust, but old, cracked, broken plastic inside, so that has to go. But getting everything out so we can really clean it is a true challenge.
I want to get this done so I can go to the Grand Canyon.
Thanks for any help.

Modify the heck out of YOUR trailer. After all, it is yours. I may as well be the one to say-post pictures. Get the project done and take it to the Grand Canyon. Enjoy yourself. Stay safe.
I hope to do some camping soon. I live in Wisconsin and it was 54 degrees yesterday, (January 27, 2006.) The weather dude said that it was 35 degrees above average. I HAVE TO GO CAMPING, SOON.

You might browse through the "Document Center" located to the left under "Resources". You can find .PDF files there of the manuals to the same or similar units there. Many manuals include installation instructions, which followed backward would tell you how to "un-install" that hardware.
Good Luck

Faith, break them apart and tear them out. You're fortunate because you aren't removing them to repair, so being gentle isn't a necessity.

The warped aluminum frames around the window is what's got me stumped...how did that happen??? Those windows would be the one thing I'd do everything in my power to repair. Windows are expensive! You can purchase a couple of 3-way refrigerators for what one set of windows are going to cost.

It would prob be helpful if you took pictures and posted them as to the problems. If the stuff went in it should come out and there are quite a number of folks on this forum that the same thing you are in the process of doing. Good luck!

I had the same refrigerator problem and was able to remove it. I suggest taking out the furnace first because the refrigerator is a true beast.

First I took off the refrig face frame. It may or may not be screwed into the cabinet. Then I removed the refrigerator door. You may have trouble reaching its hinge screws as I did, so I just muscled that door off with the help of a small, flat crowbar or similar tool. That accomplished, I now had a better way to grab hold of the heavy refrigerator and I found it had to be pulled up then out of the cabinet. It was screwed to a board that kept getting caught on something in there. Yes it was not easy.

In the end, muscle won out. I did not have a furnace alongside mine so that made it easier to reach in there and that's why I suggest removing furnace first. You will want to take care not to destroy the bottom lip of the fiberglass cabinet. The great weight of the refrig will make that difficult to avoid, so take your time.

The furnace in my 2000 Scamp 16 comes out without any trouble. Turn off the gas, disconnect the gas and electric lines, remove the two screws holding the unit to the floor and slide it out.
