April, I have not done this project, But thought of doing the same thing. (our first
casita we purchased before finding the newer one.) And was informed that it's actually Sculpted Carpet, ( for the life of me, I can't remember who/which post ect, but they made me smile describing the sculpted versus shag.
made it sound really pretty! ) Anyway the responces I had from basically the same ? was that it's a tough job, but worth it, if you choose to take it on. I think the glue used is what makes removal hard. Then Scrapping to get the surface clean and even before reapplying your new carpet. I did talk to a car restore guy and he suggested tuck and roll (like the car's in the 50s use to have) I investigated a few other options cause I kinda got the feeling that getting the new carpet up was tough as well. I certainlly think there are probably other options and most likely I wouldn't have re-carpeted But it's really what you want as a finish. Hopefully others who have done the project can give you the details, and help you with how to's. Robin
