Removing some cabinets in the boler

Hi all,

We are at a loss as to how to remove the fibre glass cabinet that is at the door (tall one) and the rear (where the bunks are) as they seem to b attached to the outer shell. We have seen that lots of people have removed them for painting, etc and are wondering how they did it. We are at a loss and it is slowing down our momentum. Are we even able to remove it?

Hi Ursula,

There is no need to remove the cabinets to paint the interior. We painted our interior and just painted around them. It would be a lot of extra effort to remove and reinstall cabinets just to paint. To say nothing of the risk of damage to the cabinets or the shell in doing so.

The tall cabinet IS riveted to the shell. If you are referring to the dinette/bed seats when you mention the rear, those should be screwed in to a wood frame that is attached to the shell. They are easy enough to remove and we did remove those when painting. It is simple enough and gives you all kinds of working space. The tall cabinet, we just painted around.

Awesome we are a little trepidous about removing the tall cabinet and the bunk cabinet they are both attached to the shell. We have been assessing the likely hood of replacing the floor as there is a lot of water damage and the wood is very rotten in most places.

So we may need to remove the bunk cabinet anyways to do that unless we can work around it.

My 1976 Neonex trailer is of a different construction than most other Bolers I have seen. the trailer appears to be totally fibreglass, including the wheel wells, and the seats appear to be one large molded section, making it difficult if not impossible to remove them.

I recently re-wired a friends' Boler and was amazed at how simple it was as her benches were easily removed allowing for easy access.

Check to see if your trailer is all fibreglass or if it is a combination of fibreglass and metal.

Our Boler also is all FG. {No rivets}. All of the seats, the kitchen, hanging closet, upper and end overhead cupboards are all fiberglassed into place making the whole unit very sound. They even glassed the fridge into place and I'm going to have to work at it with a Dremmel and cutter to remove, If I can find a replacement. May just go with an electric model.

We have been able to take out the front cabinet and are still debating the tall cabinet and overhead kitchen area cabinet. If we can work around them we will.

Otherwise, our next goal is to get the frame redone. It is cracked in 2 major places and the axle is cracked too.
